... because in my role as managing director of Die Mürwiker GmbH at the time, I could foresee that the issue of skilled workers would play a central role for the Mürwiker over the next ten years. At the same time, it was clear that no one would come just because we shouted. The campaign "Flensburg loves you" thus targets people who are at crossroads in their lives and are deciding where to go. By communicating the advantages of Flensburg, we want to help them decide.
I love Flensburg, ...
... as my new home. Born in Frankfurt am Main, I already had an affinity for the Schleswig-Flensburg region as a child and teenager, since my grandparents lived in Schleswig. After graduating from high school, I joined the navy in Flensburg.
The people in and around Flensburg ...
... were and are open to new things. Through the student scene, I got in touch with projects at the then University of Education (now the European University of Flensburg), where I could work and try things out.
For me, Flensburg ...
... at that time for a study at the Pedagogical University. Even then, the university offered to accompany an innovative educational start-up in which I was involved. This developed to such an extent that I found my first job there after graduation. This start-up, both in its conception and as a network, was the basis for my entry into the management of the Mürwiker Werkstätten, today Die Mürwiker GmbH. Once Flensburg, always Flensburg.
