The proximity to the German-Danish border shapes Flensburg both culturally and economically, and has an influence on the infrastructure as well as on the lifestyle of many Flensburg residents. While you can enjoy life and work in the small city - or big town - with great nature and the sea, the direct freeway and rail connections ensure that you can be in Hamburg in one and a half hours and in Copenhagen in three hours. Meanwhile, the direct rail connection to Prague even allows you to take a train to Berlin without changing trains.
