Home port without compromise

At home on the fjord

We admit it: As convinced Flensburgers, we are of course especially in love with our city. But even if you are new to Flensburg, you will quickly experience the advantages of Germany's northernmost city.

We are happy to give you a small taste:

Racism, discrimination, homophobia and xenophobia have no place in Flensburg! That is why we are working together with the city administration, the political groups and various sponsors to improve coexistence.

For more than seven centuries, Flensburg has "hugged" its fjord. And no matter where you are in Flensburg, whether in the middle of the city or on the outskirts: The way to the water is never far. And the view of the water during an after-work beer at the tip of the harbor or on a sunny day at the beach is simply pure relaxation. Or invites you to jump into the cool water.

A little German, a little Danish - simply the perfect mix! In our border town, traditions merge and we are proud of this cheerful neighborhood. Our multicultural city climate is further enhanced by international students and newcomers.

The local companies offer professional challenges in a wide variety of sectors, while the city provides a feel-good atmosphere. After all, work is only half of life - and Flensburg is the perfect place to combine leisure and work.

To be more precise: on a climate course! Environmental protection and sustainability have a high priority in Flensburg. Many citizens always participate in the activities of the Flensburg Climate Pact so that we can also achieve our common goal -CO2-neutral by 2050.

The European University Flensburg and the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences are not only geographically at the top, but also highly rated by students. The best opportunities on the job market for students are just as much included as good and affordable living conditions.

What actually makes Flensburg so livable? Is it the fjord? The climate? The living conditions? Or rather the Scandinavian flair?

The best way to find out is to experience it for yourself: Stroll across the Holm, let your eyes wander over the harbor and the water, explore the hidden backyards and discover the economic diversity in the city and industrial areas. You will see: Between the sky and the fjord, it's an excellent place to live. And there's something for everyone - you don't have to choose here.
