I came to "The most beautiful fjord in the world" ...
... because I am firmly convinced of Flensburg's advantages and the city of Flensburg has a significant interest in marketing the region and Flensburg as a location in a positive way. The initiative launched by Flensburg's merchants in 2013 has always been supported and promoted by the city. So it was only logical for me to become actively involved in the association's board of directors in order to make people even more aware of Flensburg's advantages. We are an attractive and really livable region that offers more than it seems at first.
I love Flensburg, ...
... because the city and the region don't overwhelm me with the hustle and bustle or absolute anonymity of a metropolis - Flensburg combines small-town charm with big-city appeal. It's a cool mixture that allows you to stay human while pursuing your trendy hobbies in the city and region.

... their openness and friendly but direct North German manner. We are a motley collection of different origins, nationalities and identities. We respect the differences of those who are not familiar to us and stick together in hard times as well as in good times. "Flensburg loves you - just the way you are" is not just a bold statement, but is based on those basic principles of togetherness.

... equal opportunities and the possibility to participate in shaping one's own life. In our city, everyone has the freedom to actively shape their everyday life according to their own interests - quiet voices are not lost or overheard. People get involved because they know there is movement in it.
