We love working here!

Jessica, BAUPLAN NORD

Being a strong supporter of Flensburg projects ...

... is out of the question for Jessica, despite her residence in Hamburg. As a project manager at BAUPLAN NORD, she is responsible for the implementation and realization of construction projects and spends two to three working days in Flensburg every week. From its locations in Flensburg and Hamburg, BAUPLAN NORD develops unique real estate concepts with the highest standards of architecture and spatial quality.

If Jessica is honest, she hadn't given Flensburg a second thought before she took her job at BAUPLAN NORD and came to the fjord city. So she would never have guessed how much she would be drawn here at some point. In the meantime, she loves being in Flensburg because there is a kind of calm here that she sometimes misses in the dynamic city of Hamburg. People's interaction is closer, more cooperative and based on mutual trust - something that is very important to her and close to her heart: The trust that - especially when the going gets tough - you can rely on each other. That's why she says with conviction, "I wouldn't want to miss Flensburg and the people I've met here."

Jessica also particularly appreciates this close-knit, family-like atmosphere among her colleagues - as well as the exciting projects. Currently, she is looking forward to being in charge of the lighthouse project "Stadtspeicher" at Harniskai and, together with numerous companies, to delivering a valuable end product that reflects the principles and visions of BAUPLAN NORD.

Luke, FRS

Working independently on international IT projects ...

... is one of Luka's tasks at the shipping groupFRS GmbH & Co. KGwith its headquarters in Flensburg. He enjoys working for an international group in Germany's northernmost city - and working in an environment where his own opinion counts and he can contribute anew every day.

Lukas completed his practice-oriented training as an IT specialist for system integration at FRS and was already a permanent member of the IT team during this time. This did not change after he took over. For Lukas, the range of tasks became even more diverse and exciting. In addition to working on global projects, server administration and supporting employees around the world are part of his job.

Thanks to the company's central location near the Fördespitze, Lukas is quickly in the city center and can go to one of the many eateries there during his lunch break. He also has a short walk to work, as he lives close to the center - simply ideal for him.

By the way, FRS has over 70 ships and more than 2,000 employees from 42 countries.

Does that sound exciting? You can find more information about FRS here.

Gerald, Witte GmbH

Flensburg is a place where values still count!

... this is how Gerald, customer consultant in the field of luminaire sales and lighting design at Witte GmbH, answers the question why he would recommend a friend to accept a job offer in Flensburg. He finds the northern Germans decent and considerate. We can all be proud of ourselves there!

The native Swabian has been living in our beautiful German-Danish development region since 2017 and is still enthusiastic. Originally, his wife and he came to Flensburg for a vacation on the recommendation of his in-laws. This turned into regular vacation stays and finally the lighting designer found a new professional home at Witte, a specialist wholesaler that has existed since 1931, and stayed here. Since 2022 he has been living on the Danish side of Förde. As a sailor with his own boat, the high recreational value of the region naturally also plays a role in the young man's well-being.

At Witte, advice is given by brand and not by price. With this philosophy Gerald feels really well. He is free to advise according to his experience with individual products and is not required to sell specific items. As Gerald puts it, "We are allowed to sell certain products here, but we don't have to."

Oh yes, Flensburg can come up with another big plus for Gerald: the food tastes particularly good to him here in the region!

Do you also want to become a "colleague from the trade", as the 80 or so employees of the Witte company call themselves? Then take a look at the company's career page or job advertisements.

Ina, Densch & Schmidt

The Flens Festival is a real highlight ...

... thinks Ina (left in the picture), trainee as real estate agent at our member company Densch & Schmidt Immobilien GmbH. The exuberant mood of the supposedly so cool northern lights inspires her every year anew.

The 22 year old is a convinced Flensburgerin and is glad that she can learn with the nice colleagues an exciting occupation. Even during her school internship a few years ago, she was taken seriously at the company and now, in her first year of apprenticeship, she enjoys the trust and appreciation of the experienced real estate professionals around her.

Ina works in the leasing department and is familiar with all the processes involved in real estate brokerage, from the first contact with a landlord to preparing the exposé and conducting viewings to signing the lease. Of course, Densch & Schmidt also brokers properties for sale. In addition to the Flensburg office, the group of companies also has branches on Sylt and on Föhr/Amrum and is active not only as a real estate agent, but also as a property developer, among other things.

What Ina particularly likes about Flensburg is the harmonious balance between the rural environment and the vibrant city life. Thanks to the harbor tip and the pedestrian zone, the center of the city is clearly defined and it's very easy to find your way around. Anyone who has never lived by the water should give it a try, she thinks, because water has attracted people for thousands of years. Once you've been here, you never want to leave....

Isabel, Queisser Pharma

Pure enthusiasm and emotion ...

... Isabel Klaassen experiences throughout the city when it comes to the SG Flensburg Handewitt handball team. Nowhere else has she experienced that an entire city stands united behind its sports team. The enthusiasm of the supposedly cool northern Germans is quite incredible here!

Isabel from the Rhineland, Senior Brand Manager at Queisser Pharma GmbH & Co. KG, moved from the Rhine-Main area to beautiful Flensburg in October 2018. She loves to actively shape the future of the dynamic company with her team in the "Marketing" concept forge. She particularly appreciates the hands-on mentality and the cohesion at the German supplier of over-the-counter health products, which was founded in 1897. Queisser Pharma's portfolio includes various health brands. The company operates nationally and internationally and offers products both in and out of pharmacies. Isabel is responsible for the "Doppelherz aktiv" brand in Germany. The "Doppelherz" brand, which has been around for almost 100 years, is a household name to everyone. With its "aktiv" line, the Doppelherz brand is the market leader in the German drugstore market and food retail trade in the entire OTC (over the counter) product group. No two workdays are the same, and Isabel really appreciates being able to contribute her own ideas.

As a passionate flamenco dancer, Isabel is also impressed by the fact that there are two dance groups here in the city that share this passion with her. Another great side of the Fördestadt!

By the way, she used to regularly drive home from the Rhine-Main area to the Rhineland for the weekend. Today, friends and family love to visit her to enjoy the German-Danish flair and the beautiful landscape.

Irene, Müller & Partner

In Flensburg, you quickly belong ...

"People know each other," enthuses Irene Kurbel, partner at the Müller & Partner tax officeabout Flensburg and the people of Flensburg. Even as a foreigner, you can quickly find your way around and become part of the community, says the native of Ludwigsburg.

She is also taken with the calming effect of the water. So the workplace in Sonwik is also ideal for her, because from there she can let her gaze wander over the fjord during work breaks, and then immediately focus on new cases. The company headquarters are located in a former navy torpedo hangar. 22 wall surfaces inside are decorated with murals by the artist Elsbeth Arlt. "Und schon ist es Montag" ("And already it's Monday") is the title of this art installation, which would be worth a separate article. With short quotes from various poems, the artist playfully addresses the history of the landmarked building with its rails and wheels on the ceiling.

The proximity to the Baltic Sea and the North Sea make the location perfect in Ms. Kurbel's eyes, and with her motor home, nearby Denmark is also worth a spontaneous short trip every now and then.

The cultural offerings in Flensburg with the very good ensemble of the state theater and the concerts of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival also exert an attraction on the Swabian. Müller & Partner is a supporter of the festival and thus contributes not least to the attractiveness of the region.

With a total of almost 25 employees, the firm is active in the areas of tax consulting, management consulting, auditing, non-profit law and succession consulting. Sounds dry at first, but in many cases it is extremely exciting.

New competent employees with vision are also being sought.
